not only their money, but also their own management skills and
expertise.
Business Plan
This describes your business' history, current standing and
future plans. This is the first document most investors will
see about your company.
Corporate Venturing
Two companies, whether in the same industry or from unrelated
fields, which work out an arrangement that benefits both parties
equally.
Debt Finance
Funding raised by taking out business loans or company overdrafts,
typically secured against company-owned assets such as facilities
and equipment.
Equity Finance
Revenue retained within your company or new capital invested
by yourself, your family or friends. Also refers to investment
from outside sources such as venture capital.
External Equity
Money raised from selling shares in your company.
Fund Manager
Professional money managers whose job is to invest other people's
money (i.e. an investment fund) to generate profit.
Grants
Provided by the government or other non-profit organisations
to encourage development or growth in specific areas. This
area may be geographical in such cases as grants covered under
the Regional Venture Capital Fund, or areas of science, where
research and development is given funding and support.
Investment Funds
Centralised pools of money from a number of investors, either
companies or individuals. This allows greater investments
than what members of the group are capable of as individuals.
Venture Capital
Financing raised from private investment in your company from
