Venture capital funding in the UK is available from four different types of providers. This site has information about each to help you decide which is most appropriate for your business.
Traditional Venture Capitalists
This is either a group or a company that provides funding in exchange for a stake in your business, along with a degree of hands-on involvement to ensure the profitability of their investment down the road.
Government Grants
The Government provides either grants for specific business areas, or funding through the Small Business Loans Guarantee, a measure developed to aid small enterprises that don't qualify for traditional bank loans.
Corporate Venturing
Two companies, whether in the same industry or from unrelated fields, which work out an arrangement that benefits both parties equally.
Business Angels
Strongly motivated individuals that invest in a business venture not only their money, but also their own management skills and expertise. |
