Depending
upon the individual circumstances upon application, some
students will be able to receive additional allowances.
Dependants’ Allowance
These
means tested allowances are only payable to you for dependants
who are wholly or mainly
financially dependent on you during your training.
Single
Parent Allowance
This type of allowance are
payable to single students who have a dependent child
or children. It is not payable in addition to your other
Students’ Allowances.
Older
Students’ Allowance
This
is for students who have reached the age of 26 before
the first academic year
of their course. Key dates to follow are September
1, January 1, April 1, or July 1.
Childcare Allowance
Only
payable if you have dependent children and use registered
childcare. You could possibly receive
85% of your actual costs of a maximum £114
for one child, and up to £170 a week for two
or more children.
Clinical Placement Costs
The
full cost of travel can be easily reimbursed
provided the cost is in excess of your
normal daily travel costs from your term time
residence to your place of education.
