Are
European Students Eligible for Credit?
Although financing
options are not as prevalent and a little limited, European
students who belong to a Euro Zone country
wishing to study in the UK are eligible for some tuition fee
support.
Average full time tuition fees
for 2005 to 2005 are: For typical degree courses, £1,200;
for Masters and Doctorate, £3,100; for engineering
and sciences, £4,200;
and for MBA and advanced business courses £8,400. Typical
degree and diploma courses have an additional registration
fee payable during the first year of study. Please contact
your university’s
finance office for further details. Tuition Fees Support
Full Time Undergraduate
Students
EU students can easily
apply for support towards their tuition fees through
the Department of Education & Skills. The level of
support received depends on your own income and, where
appropriate,
your parents’ or
spouse’s income. It is very important that you
apply for support as soon as you have confirmation
of a place
and do not
wait until you are about to start your course. If you
are beginning an undergraduate course you will be sent
an application
form.
Part Time Undergraduate Students
EU
students can also apply for a £575 grant towards
their tuition fees. You should apply to the EU Team at
the Department of Education & Skills.
The application form (EU4PT) is available on the
DfES website.
Postgraduate Students
There is no
available financial assistance for students from the
European Union studying
on part or full time postgraduate courses.
EU
students are also not eligible to receive NHS bursaries. |
