> Award
Amount of your financial compensation.

> Claimant, also Plaintiff
Person making the claim.

> Compensation
Wherein you receive recompense for a loss suffered as the result of an accident that was not your fault.

> Damages
Amount of financial compensation you may get as a result of a common law negligence action.

> Defendant
Person you are making a claim against.

> Disability
A measurable loss or limitation in function that results from either a physical or mental injury or impairment.

> Economic Loss
Amount of money lost, such as income, medical bills or other expenses as a consequence of the accident.

> Fault, also Liability or Negligence
A breach of the duty of care that one person owes to another, such as the duty to act carefully to avoid injury to another person.

> Occupational Disease
A disease specific to an occupation, caused by hazards beyond what is normally related to the job.

> Personal Injury
Form of injury, either physical or psychological, as a result of an accident

> Settlement
The conclusion of your claim, either through a court decision or negotiation.

> Third Party
Generally refers to the other driver or drivers involved in an accident

> Third Party Insurance
Insurance that covers claims for damages made against you as the result of an accident.
