Banking in the Digital Age
Also known as Internet banking, online banking is still an
emerging phenomenon for most mainstream personal banking clients.
However electronic banking as a whole, including online access
to bank services, has been a regular feature relied upon for
many years now by corporate and business banking customers.
But it is only recently that these type of services are starting
to be offered as general services to the rest of the banking
public.
What is online banking?
Online banking basically refers to services
that enable customers to access their account details and
information,
as well as
conduct transactions and other regular banking facilities,
via their own home computers (or possibly their mobile
phones) through a normal Internet connection to the bank’s
network.
Where can I get an online account?
Most banks now offer online services to their
customers; some are as simple as balance enquiries and transaction
verification. While others offer advanced banking solutions like
automated fund transfer between accounts, mobile phone transaction
tracking, email alerts, and online bill payment. Check our
